Jesus was not a Roman

I have been in Israel and I have been in Rome. I have seen the difference between the two countries. God spoke to me in Jerusalem and God also spoke to me in Rome.

Jesus was born and raised in the Roman Empire, but he was not a Roman. The Romans killed Jesus. The Romans killed Peter. The Romans killed Paul and lots more. So how come everybody follows the Romans?

Jesus did not follow the Roman calendar, or worship the Roman gods, or even mention any of their names. Julius Caesar’s calendar had the same names of the days of the week and of the months of the year that are in Pope Gregory’s calendar, yet Jesus did not mention any of those names. Every country that I have been in has followed the Gregorian calendar which is named after Pope Gregory the 13th. Every church that I have been a member of has also followed the Roman calendar as the basis for their beliefs. Yet every church claims to believe the Bible!

When I was in Rome, the Holy Spirit spoke to me. That is why I believe differently from most of the churches. I also grew up using the Roman calendar the same as everybody else, but the Roman calendar is opposite to the word of God. God Himself said that we must not mention the names of other gods, neither let it be heard out of our mouths. (Exodus 23:13) Every day of the week in the Roman calendar is named after other gods, and also half of the months.

I keep trying to tell people these things, but it is like their minds are blinded by the god of this world. (2 Corinthians 4:4) Every church I have been in seem to say that they believe that the Bible is the word of God, but when I tell them what God says, they get mad at me. Why all the hatred? I am only telling the truth.

Churches send missionaries around the world to try and get the heathens to turn from their pagan gods and believe in the God of the Bible, but church people themselves refuse to change their thoughts and their ways of life to fit in with the word of God. People are bound by their traditions, just the same as the people in days of Jesus. Mark chapter 7.

Beloved, words are important. Jesus said that by our words we will be justified and by our words we will be condemned. (Matthew 12:37) The world was formed by words. God spoke and things happened! Jesus had power in his words. When Jesus spoke, the storm stopped, Lazarus came out of the tomb, food multiplied, devils went out of people, the sick were healed, etc. Maybe if we can get our words right, God might use us the same as he used Jesus!

The Gregorian calendar is named after Pope Gregory the 13th, and the other year I decided to search on the internet about him. I was shocked at some of the things I read. A terrible thing happened on a day they call “Saint Bartholomew’s Day massacre.” There is an artist’s picture of in on the internet. Apparently a prominent Protestant man was marring a prominent Catholic woman. Then some Catholic people went on the warpath and killed a few thousand French Huguenots.

Then I read that Pope Gregory was so happy with all the killings that he went to church and sang a song of praise to God for all the killings. Do you think Jesus was happy with all those killings? Jesus did not promote violence. Jesus taught love. Today it seems like all the protestant churches use his calendar for all their religious beliefs! Beloved, whose side are you on?

I don’t mean to offend people, but I am always searching for the truth. I grew up going to church, and I studied theology, but lots of the things I was taught are not the same as what the Holy Spirit has taught me. Everything the Holy Spirit has taught me is in line with what is written in the scriptures. Jesus said: “Search the scriptures!”

One day we all have to give an account. Jesus said: “Give to Caesar what belongs to Caesar, and give to God what belongs to God.” (Matthew 22:21, Mark 12:17, Luke 20:25) I have been in so many churches that do the opposite to what Jesus said.

I don’t think many people read the things I write, but I feel a burden to keep on trying to get people to believe the truth. Jesus said that he is the way, the truth and the life. (John 14:6)  Follow Jesus. What would Jesus do? Jesus didn’t follow the Romans. Jesus followed the teachings of the scriptures.

When Jesus was born, the angels sang: “Glory to God in the highest!” That was when the Glory of God came down to earth in the form of a baby. That relates to what God told Moses. God told Moses that he must erect the tabernacle on the first day of the New Year. (Exodus chapter 40) When he did that, the glory of God came down into the tabernacle. So if I had to follow the scriptures for my beliefs, I would say that Jesus was born on the first day of God’s New Year, which is in the springtime. That is when the shepherds are in the fields as the sheep are giving birth. God’s New Year starts 14 days before Passover. (Exodus chapter 12)

In Pope Gregory’s calendar, December the 25th is the day of the rebirth of the Egyptian sun god. When the days got shorter in the Roman Empire, the Romans thought that the sun god was dying, and then came back to life. God made the sun go dark in Egypt to show the Egyptians that the sun is not a god.

In our first December in Canada, I said to my wife: “What has happened to the sun?” The sunset seemed so early. In Rhodesia the sunset was at about 6 pm all year round. Toronto is about the same latitude as Rome, and when the days got shorter the Romans thought that the sun god was dying! Somewhere on the internet someone said that in the Julian calendar it was on the 21st of December.

Beloved, aren’t we supposed to base our beliefs on what is written in the scriptures? We are not supposed to follow the heathens for our beliefs!

All my life I have noticed that there are so many things that churches believe that are totally different to what is written in the scriptures! Beloved, what would Jesus do?

Rich man – poor man

We live in a world where people judge you according to your wealth. If you are rich, people look up to you as if you are someone great and wonderful. If you are poor, people look at you as if you are a piece of poop.

Beloved, that is not the way it is supposed to be.

Many years ago my uncle sent me 50 billion dollars. When I received it, my mind went into a spin, and I imagined myself going on a cruise ship for the rest of my life, sailing all over the world. Having a good time! No more worries!

Then I noticed it had an expiry date, and it had just expired. My heart went ‘plop.’ What a bringdown! My uncle wrote to me that getting mail out of Zimbabwe was a problem, as he didn’t trust the system. He had to wait for someone he knew who is going out of the country, and then they would take the mail and send it on to me.

I had a brief time in my life when things were going well with me, and when that happened, some people were very jealous of me.

Most of my life I have been poor, not knowing sometimes where I will sleep next, and sometimes wondering where I will get my next meal. Somehow God has always looked after me, and a lot of the rich people that I have admired have passed away long before reaching my age.

I remember sleeping one night in the house of a millionaire. I remember one night sleeping on a concrete floor, and another night on a park bench. At one point in my life, we didn’t have a home and we all slept in the car every night as we travelled around America.

As Jesus travelled around Israel, he said that the foxes have holes, and the birds of the air have nests, but he has nowhere to lay his head. One night Jacob slept with his head on a rock. For many years David was hiding in caves. Many of the prophets roughed it too. John the Baptist could have walked into Jerusalem and demanded his share of the tithe, but he chose to live in the wilderness and prepare the way for JESUS.

Beloved, whether we are rich or poor, we must make sure we make it through the pearly gates!

Money – Guard yourself against the love of money

Luke Chapter 12 – My version:

13 Then someone in the crowd shouted to Jesus, saying: “Teacher, tell my brother to share the family inheritance with me.”

14 So Jesus replied to him saying: “Human, it is not my job to be the judge and divider between the two of you.”

15 Then Jesus turned to the crowd saying: “Be aware of the danger of being greedy, and guard yourself against it, because true happiness in life doesn’t come from how many things that you own.”

16 Then Jesus decided to tell them a little story. “Once upon a time a rich farmer had a bumper crop.

17 Then his brain kicked into gear saying: ‘I don’t have anywhere to store my bumper crop.’

18 Then he said to himself: ’I know what I will do – I will build much bigger barns and store all my things in there.’

19 Then I will say to my soul: ‘You have no more worries old chap, just live it up for the rest of your life. Eat, drink and be merry!’

20 Then God said to him: ‘You are a fool. Tonight you are going to die, then who will own all those things that you have stored up?’

21 That is like the man who stores up all his treasures on earth, but has nothing in his bank account in heaven.”

In verse 33, Jesus told his disciples to store all their treasures in their bank accounts in heaven.

In verse 34 Jesus told them that where their treasure is, that is where their heart will be also. Amen.

Pray

When I go for early morning walks, I always think of this verse in the Bible about Jesus going out early to pray: ‘And in the morning, rising up a great while before day, he went out, and departed into a solitary place, and there prayed.’ Mark 1:35

20/20 vision

When I think of 20/20 vision, I think of this Bible verse. A couple of massive armies came to fight against the people of God and the king and the people were so afraid. The king called the people together to fast and pray. Then the Spirit of the LORD came upon Jahaziel and he gave a prophecy that the LORD would fight the battle for them. The people went out against the armies singing praises to the LORD, and the enemy armies fought against each other and they all killed themselves.

You can read the whole story in all different translations on the bible gateway program.

Eternity – Are you ready?

Eternity is forever and ever, and Jesus promised us eternal life by believing in him.

One day there will be a new heaven and a new earth where the righteous will live. All the sinners are going to end up in the lake of fire.

Sin is so terrible in the eyes of God that it is only through the shedding of innocent blood that sin can be atoned for. In the old days, people had to sacrifice innocent animals to atone for their sins, but one day God decided to send his own Son to die for our sins. His name is Jesus Christ of Nazareth who had no sin.

He died on a cross for our sins, so that we can have our sins forgiven. Our job is to ask for forgiveness, and then to follow him and his teachings.

All these things I have written are in line with what is taught in the Holy Scriptures. The main book containing the Holy Scriptures is called the Bible. There are many types of Bibles in many different languages around the world. If you don’t believe me, I encourage you to go and search for the truth yourself, because your eternal life depends on it.

I want everyone in the world to have a happy eternal life with God the Father and his Son Jesus Christ. If you don’t get saved, you will end up in the lake of fire for all eternity. That will be a terrible place to be, so that is why I am warning you.

Love yourself and your life, and surrender your life to Jesus the Christ. Jesus means “Saviour” and Christ means “Messiah.”

Here’s wishing you a happy eternal life! God bless.

Forgive – It is not worth going to hell just because some idiot does you wrong!

Song – If you don’t forgive

Beloved, recently the Lord ministered to me concerning a song I wrote a long time ago. I was busy playing games on the computer, and found myself singing this song. Then I found myself changing the words. I found myself putting in names of people that have hurt me. One by one I put in the names of all the people who have hurt me.

If you are finding it a struggle to forgive people, it might be good therapy if you do the same thing, and put in all the names of the people who have hurt you.

This phrase came to me this morning as I was asking the Lord for wisdom, and so that is why I am putting this out there: “It is not worth going to hell just because some idiot does you wrong!”

In the Lord’s prayer, Jesus said we must forgive. Matthew chapter 6:

After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name.

10 Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.

11 Give us this day our daily bread.

12 And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.

13 And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.

14 For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you:

15 But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.”

Jesus said that if we want to experience miracles, then we must first forgive if we have anything against anybody. Mark chapter 11:

20 And in the morning, as they passed by, they saw the fig tree dried up from the roots.

21 And Peter calling to remembrance saith unto him, Master, behold, the fig tree which thou cursedst is withered away.

22 And Jesus answering saith unto them, Have faith in God.

23 For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith.

24 Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.

25 And when ye stand praying, forgive, if ye have ought against any: that your Father also which is in heaven may forgive you your trespasses.

26 But if ye do not forgive, neither will your Father which is in heaven forgive your trespasses.”

So I found an old cassette tape recording of this song and have placed it on the YouTube last week.

Good and bad

I think that every person has their good points and their bad points.

I think that every country has got it’s good points and it’s bad points.

I think that every government has it’s good points and it’s bad points.

I think that every city has got it’s good points and it’s bad points.

I think that every house has got it’s good points and it’s bad points.

I think that every car has got it’s good points and it’s bad points.

I think that every job has got it’s good points and it’s bad points.

So I think we must enjoy the good things in life. Fix the bad things. But if we cannot fix the bad things, then we must just do the best we can with whatever the situation is.

Many times in my life, some people that I have known have been very good to me, but those same people have also been very bad to me. It shouldn’t be like that, but that is the way it is. Let me give you an example from the Bible.

One day Jesus asked his disciples who they thought he was, and Peter replied: “You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.” Jesus commended him for that statement and said: “Flesh and blood has not revealed this to you, but my Father who is in heaven.” So Peter was used by Almighty God at that moment!

Then, a few minutes later, Jesus says to Peter: “Get thee behind me Satan!” Wow. So Peter was used by God, and also used by Satan!

Later on, Peter denied that he ever even knew Jesus. Wow. But Jesus forgave him. Later on, Peter was mightily used by God to heal the sick and to raise the dead! So, don’t give up. There is hope for all of us yet!

Just keep on believing!

Wounded in the house of my friends

I grew up attending a church in Africa with the idea that the church people were the best people on the planet, and that the “worldly” people were the bad people who would hate us. This was based on the teachings of Jesus where he said: “If the world hate you, ye know that it hated me before it hated you.” (John 15:18)

Jesus taught his disciples to love one another. (John 13:34) So my idea was that the church people were full of love, and the “worldly” people were full of hate.

When I was a minister of a church in Canada, I did the Gospel of Mark in pictures, and it was then that I realized that the “world” who hated Jesus was not the bad sinners, but the religious people. That was a shock to me, and it became even more real to me when the church people turned against me, and wanted me dead.

They wanted to kick us out of the church in the middle of winter, when it was -20C at night and -10C in the day. We were living in the back of the church building, with no money, my car was broken, and my credit card was at the limit. We had no home to go to. The leader of the church made us both quit our jobs and move down there. In the old days people were burned at the stake, etc, but the modern day is more sophisticated, but the end result is the same! When my trial was on, I just sat there quietly with my head down.

So anyway, I can relate to the words that Jesus will one day say to his people as recorded in the words of the prophet: And one shall say unto him, “What are these wounds in thine hands?” Then he shall answer, “Those with which I was wounded in the house of my friends.” (Zechariah 13:6)

At the last supper, Judas left the table to betray Jesus. Then Jesus referred to his disciples as his ”Friends.” (John 15:15) In the Garden of Gethsemane after Judas had betrayed Jesus with a kiss, Jesus called him “Friend.” (Matthew 26: 50)

So it seems like Jesus still loved Judas, even though he had betrayed him. Maybe Jesus still loves every one of us, no matter who we are or what we have done. Our job is to repent of our sins and get saved.
