Bible – Searching for the “Right Bible”

Everybody in the world seems to think and believe differently. I think it has a lot to do with where we were born and raised, and what our parents taught us. So to start with, I feel I must share a little bit of my background so that you can try and understand the way I think.

I was born in England, but when I was a baby, my parents took me to Salisbury, Southern Rhodesia, and I grew up there till the age of 12. (The terrorists won the war and Salisbury is now called Harare, and the country is now called Zimbabwe). It was a lovely climate and I had a very happy childhood. My mother received Jesus as her Saviour when I was little, and she took us to church every week. It was a British based church, and the only Bible we had was the Authorized King James Version, which is slightly different from the American King James Version.

From the age of 12 to 24 I lived in Bulawayo. From there I went to South Africa as a gospel singer, and my manager lived in Salisbury, and he had a gospel film library called the Religious Film Service. I ended up spending 9 years in South Africa as a gospel singer, travelling all over the country. During that time, I got married, and the South African Government gave me one month to get out of the country, or to apply for immigration. Then they put me on a 6 month visa.

My home country was going through terrorist warfare at that time, and I was scared that if South Africa kicked me out, then I would have to be in a situation where I would have to kill or be killed in Rhodesia. So I thought that if I join a church, then they would give me permanent residence. So I joined a church, but was still on a 6 month visa for many years.

With joining a church, I was forced to study theology and become a minister of religion. During that time, TV came to South Africa, and my bookings went down to zero. One night I was singing at someone’s house and an American preacher heard me and invited me to come to America and sing in his church. My wife told me that I always go where I am invited, and suggested we go to America. So we sold everything we had, and went on a trip to America, and God and the church people were very good to us there.

In America we bought puppets, and my wife started doing puppet shows which were very popular. In Rhodesia, the warfare was getting worse all the time, and some of my best friends were killed there. We could have been killed a few times as we were ministering around the country with the puppet shows. I got scared and decided to apply for a job in America, but there were no openings there, but there was an opening in Canada. So we arranged to come to Canada. Just before we left South Africa, the South African government gave me permanent residence, but it was too late to change plans.

On the way to Canada, my wife wanted to go to Israel. From there we went to Rome, and the Holy Spirit spoke to me in Saint Peter’s Basilica, that totally changed my thinking. First we worked at an apartment building in Canada and paid off our airfares, then a church came open, and I applied for the job.

It was a problem church and in 10 years they had about 8 different ministers. I was about 33 years old, and had always experienced God’s blessings in South Africa, and thought I could get the church “right.” During that time I did the Book of Mark in pictures that later got published in America. It was just black and white drawings. Since then I have done it in colour using the paint program on the computer.

We were living in the back of the church building with an income of $25 a week, which was a gas allowance. It was at that time that I prayed for a guy in the wheelchair, who climbed out of his wheelchair and walked. Then the church turned against me on account of one word that Jesus spoke in Luke 13:32. The word was “perfected.” The leader of the church told me that the King James Bible was “no good” and that the Greek Interlinear was “wrong.” Since then I have been trying to find the “Right Bible.”

When the leader of the church told me that, it felt like he took the rock out from under my feet. Jesus said that if we hear his words and do them, it is like a man building his house on the rock. (Matthew 7:24 and Luke 6:47 – 48) When I came to Canada, I thought that my faith was so strong that nothing could shake it. I guess I was wrong. When we came to Canada, the leader of the church told us that he used to fight against A. A. Allen in Georgia. I guess that should have been a clue for us. On the way to Canada my wife had a vision in England and she said she saw the leader of the church come against me, and we left the church.

To cut a long story short, we left the church, and I travelled around Canada and America singing for Jesus. One time when were in America, I was reading a story about the guy who wrote the hymn: “The old rugged cross.” He said that the word “Calvary” is not supposed to be in the Bible. That was a surprise to me. When we were in Jerusalem looking at the place where Jesus was crucified an old hymn keep running through my mind that said: “At Calvary.” Now he says that word is not supposed to be in the Bible! Wow. In Strong’s Concordance it means the base of a skull or cranium. Jesus was actually crucified at the base of the rock formation. I guess the word cranium leads to the word “calvaria” in Latin which leads to the word “Calvary” in English. In Hebrew it is “Golgotha” which means “skull.” It is the rock face there outside the Damascus gate. (Luke 23:33) In the Greek Interlinear it says “skull.”

They wanted to kick me out of the church because of one word in the Bible that they said was the wrong translation, so does that mean that every Bible that has the word “Calvary” should be scrapped? Does that mean that every church that uses the word “Calvary” should close down? Does that mean that every song that has the word “Calvary” should be taken out of the hymn books?

A couple of years ago I sang the Gaither song: “Thanks to Calvary I don’t live here anymore.” I thought that if I have to sing it correctly, I should have to sing: “Thanks to a skull I don’t live here anymore.” But that didn’t feel right. So I sang: “Thanks to Jesus I don’t live here anymore.”

If every church was judged the way I was, then every church should close down. If every Bible was judged the way I was, then every Bible should be scrapped. If every preacher was judged the way I was, then every preacher should be kicked out of the church. How far do we go on this matter? I am just searching for the truth.

Then another word came up. I was having meetings with a preacher in Arkansas, and the word “Easter” popped into my mind. So I looked in his Greek Interlinear Bible and found that it is supposed to read “Passover.” (Acts 12:4) So that is another word that is wrong in the King James Bible. That word “Easter” is the name of “the goddess of spring” (if you live in the northern hemisphere). I grew up in the southern hemisphere where it was autumn at that time of the year.

When Peter was in prison, it was the days of unleavened bread. In the scripture, first it was the Passover, followed by 7 days of unleavened bread. The Israelites celebrated Passover in Egypt then ate unleavened bread all the way to the Gulf of Aqaba where they crossed the Red Sea.

So let us get this straight. Herod wanted to bring Peter out of prison after “Easter” (King James Version) and most of the modern Bibles use the word “Passover” which probably means the end of the days of unleavened bread. Jesus was crucified at Passover as the Lamb of God.

On the internet, all the stories read that “Easter” was three days after Jesus was crucified. How can that be true? If it is at the end of the “Festival” as one version says, it would be 7 days later! So all these stories on the internet are all lying!

“Easter” has nothing to do with the resurrection of Jesus. God himself says we must not mention the names of other gods, neither must it be heard out of our mouths. (Exodus 23:13)

When I was a pastor, the leader of the church in Canada said to me: “You must celebrate Christ’s death on Good Friday morning at 11 am.” Jesus died in the afternoon, and the “Fri” day is named after a pagan sex goddess. So the leader of the church himself should be kicked out of the church! Jesus died at Passover which doesn’t fit into the Roman calendar either, and it varies from year to year.

So, if every church was judged the way I was judged, most of them should close down! In the city where I live, I saw a sign by the one church that said: “Easter worship 10 am.” So according to the sign they worship a pagan goddess! That is opposite to what is written in the Bible! Another church had a sign that said: “Sun worship 10 am.” Sun worship is death penalty according to the Law of Moses. (Deuteronomy 17)

At the time of the year when churches remember the death of Jesus, one church had a sign saying: “Pork roast.” Another church had a sign saying: “Ham dinner.” So the churches seem to believe that Jesus was a pig! John the Baptist called Jesus “The Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world.” (John 1:29) In the Book of Revelation Jesus is depicted as a “Lamb as it had been slain.” (Revelation 5:6)

How far do we go in searching for the truth? So many things that I have been taught in churches and Bible school are completely different to what is written in the scriptures. Stay with me, as we go on this journey. Jesus said that you will “know the truth and the truth shall make you free.” (John 8:32)

Beloved, I have searched for many years to try and find the truth concerning many things. Stay with me, it is a long journey!

After that we got a job at an apartment building in Toronto, and the tenants kept bugging us, even when we were ‘off duty.’ So we had to get away from the building to have some peace, and took the subway to downtown Toronto.

One day when were at The World’s Biggest Bookstore, I saw a display of books called: “The Other Bible.” I was sceptical as I guess everyone is when it comes to something different to what we are used to. However, as I looked at it, they mentioned the “First and Second books of Enoch!” That spiked my interest because in 1977 I had a vision of the coming of Jesus, and the Holy Spirit said to me: “The Lord cometh with ten thousands of his holy ones.” In Jude verse 14, he is quoting from Enoch, but we do not have the writings of Enoch in our Bibles! However, the book was very expensive and I was heavily in debt, so I didn’t buy it.

About 2 weeks went by, and I was so burdened with wanting to know the truth about these writings of Enoch, that I took the subway back to Toronto to buy the book. As I approached the religious section, I noticed that there was only one book left on the shelf where the big display had been! So I ran and grabbed it, holding it to my chest as if it was gold!

When I got home and started reading it, I discovered that they were only ‘quoting’ from the writings of Enoch, and it wasn’t the complete writings. That was very disappointing. However, someone told me that there is a shop in Toronto that specializes in ordering books for students and that they might have the writings of Enoch.

So I took the subway to Britnell’s Bookstore, and they had a book of Enoch, but the lady didn’t know if it was the first or the second book. So I ordered it anyway. They called me about two weeks later and I bought the First Book of Enoch. Lots of the books that cost me so much money in the old days, are now freely available on the internet! So you are so lucky!

My book of Enoch is from the Ethiopic Version. In 1768 a Scotsman by the name of James Bruce went to Ethiopia for 6 years and came back with 3 copies of Enoch. He gave one copy to the British Museum in London that sat there for over 50 years until someone could translate it. The experts say that it could have been written by 4 different authors. So some things may be genuine and some things may be fake.

In Jude verse 14 it is written: “Behold, the Lord cometh with ten thousands of his saints,” (KJV). In chapter 2 from Enoch it is written: “Behold he comes with ten thousands of his saints,” I read somewhere that when the Roman Catholic Church was making the Bible that they had the first book of Enoch, didn’t accept it.

In Jude verse 6 it is written: ”And the angels which kept not their first estate, but left their own habitation, he hath reserved in everlasting chains under darkness unto the judgment of the great day.” (KJV)

The women on earth were so beautiful that 200 angels decided to leave heaven and marry women on earth. (Enoch chapter 7) Their children were giants, and were eating everything they could find, including people. So God sent judgment on those angels as is recorded in Jude verse 6. The angels also taught people lots of things that they didn’t know. (Enoch chapter 7) I seem to remember being taught in history that people became cleverer over time, but that may not be the case. They were taught by the fallen angels!

I watched a movie based on the old days in Greece where women were married to gods. I think they were married to the fallen angels who were supernatural creatures that the people considered as gods. That is my theory. The story of the Trojan horse is quite famous and Paul went to Troas many times as is recorded in the book of Acts. I went on Google Maps and typed in Troas, and took 6 screen shots of 2 different Trojan horses.

In 2 Peter 2:4 it is written: “For if God spared not the angels that sinned, but cast them down to hell, and delivered them into chains of darkness, to be reserved unto judgment;” In the Greek it says “Tartarus” which I guess is a division of hell. (Enoch chapter 10)

Judgment was also dished out to the children of the angels. They would kill each other (Enoch chapter 10), but their spirits would remain on earth and be known as evil spirits. (Enoch chapter 15) Jesus cast out many evil spirits in his ministry.

In Jude verse 9, he quotes from a different Bible again, and I have not yet found where he is quoting from: “Yet Michael the archangel, when contending with the devil he disputed about the body of Moses, durst not bring against him a railing accusation, but said, The Lord rebuke thee.” (KJV)

In Enoch’s writings, he refers to Jesus about 8 times as: “The Son of man.” (Example chapter 46) Jesus referred to himself by that title many times.

When we were in Toronto in about 1983-1985, I bought many ancient writings, and one of them was The Lost Books of the Bible, that has some very exciting stories about the childhood of Jesus, etc. When I read The Gospel of Nicodemus I kept feeling that there was some hidden mystery in that book, and I read it many times in two different versions, but I couldn’t find the hidden mystery. Many years later, in 1995 when we were back in South Africa, I felt I should read it again to see if I could find the hidden mystery, but to no avail. However, that night I had a dream where the Holy Spirit supernaturally showed me the names “Jannes and Jambres.”

The next morning, before I even had a cup of tea, I went back to the Gospel of Nicodemus, and found their names in chapter 5, verse 5. They were the magicians in Egypt. My brain were one step forward and I thought that I had read those words somewhere in the Bible, but I couldn`t remember where. So I went to the concordance expecting to find an Old Testament reference. There was none! Only a New Testament reference: 2 Timothy 3:8.

It said something like this: “As Jannes and Jambres opposed Moses, so do these men oppose the truth.” As I sat there staring at the page, I realized that verse 16 was the main verse that I was taught in theology.

2 Timothy 3:16-17: “All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:

17 That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works.” (KJV)

I was taught that “All Scripture” meant the Bible, but right here in the same chapter, Paul is quoting from a different Bible! This was like the “cherry on the cake” or “the tip of the iceberg” for me, concerning all the things I had read.

Beloved, every writer in the New Testament quotes scriptures that are from a different Bible! Jesus himself quotes scriptures that are from a different Bible!

So, NOBODY has the right Bible!

And they wanted to kick me out of the church because of one word in the Bible that they said was the wrong translation!

The churches all need to get right with God!

Everybody needs to get right with God!

One day we all have to give an account at the judgment seat of Christ.

My next problem was to find where Paul was quoting from. How can the man of God be “perfect” if he doesn’t have all the right scriptures? In my ancient writings I had a paper called The Damascus document, and it mentions “Jannes and his brother.” But that didn’t fit the equation.

I went to work for a church school on South Africa, and they promised me 3 months probation, but dumped me after 2 weeks. So I ended up without a job and eventually had to sell the house and fly back to Canada.

One day in America, a very important lady told us of an ancient writing that someone had given her. She was very excited about the book, and I couldn’t help asking what it was called. She said: “Jasher or something. It is mentioned in the Bible.”

When we got back to Canada I checked the concordance again, and found 2 references to the Book of Jasher: Joshua 10:13 and 2 Samuel 1:18.

Then I remembered how many years before that I had to do house sitting for my wife when she was doing real estate in South Africa. I borrowed her Amplified Bible and was reading from it to pass the time. I remembered reading how the sun and the moon stood still, and that it was written in the book of Jasher! I remembered putting ‘a question mark’ in the margin of her Amplified Bible, which is still there! I have read the Bible many times, and lots of other books, but cannot contain all the information in my brain. But it seemed like the Holy Spirit had prompted my curiosity way back then!

We were very poor at the time and didn’t own an internet computer, but I saw a paper stuck on a light pole offering a free computer course downtown. During the one coffee break my wife suggested I type in the ‘Book of Jasher’ in one of the search engines. So I did that and took the first advert that I saw and ordered a book. I sent the US$26 and got the book in the mail.

After some speed reading I found the names Jannes and Jambres in chapter 79, verse 27. They were related to Balaam the sorcerer.

Jesus said that by the mouth of 2 or 3 witnesses let every word be established. (Matthew 18:16)

So there are 3 witnesses in the Bible. Joshua, Samuel and Paul. If you believe in the Gospel of Nicodemus, it makes 4. So how come the guys who make the Bibles don’t have the Book of Jasher in our Bibles? Apparently there are a number of different versions of the Book of Jasher, the same as there are a number of different versions of the First Book of Enoch. So the plot thickens old chap! Get Sherlock Holmes on the job!

Matthew reports that when Jesus died there was an earthquake and some of the graves were opened. After the resurrection of Jesus, many saints came out of the graves and appeared to people in the holy city. (Matthew 27:51-53)

Nicodemus was a ruler of the Jews, and in his Gospel he reports how saints who had died were alive again. They find the two sons of Simeon the high priest who blessed Jesus when he was a baby. Simeon’s two sons had died but were alive again. They give an account of how Jesus went down to the underworld and released all the saints. Neither Satan nor Beelzebub, the prince of hell, could stop him.

The righteous saints went to paradise and met the thief on the cross there. On their way they met Enoch and Elijah who will come back later as reported in the Book of Revelation. I personally think that The Gospel of Nicodemus should be in the Bible.

Jesus said these words in Matthew 23:37: “O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, thou that killest the prophets, and stonest them which are sent unto thee, how often would I have gathered thy children together, even as a hen gathereth her chickens under her wings, and ye would not!”

I think Jesus is quoting from one of the books in the Apocrypha which says: “I gathered you together, as a hen gathereth her chickens under her wings: but now, what shall I do unto you? I will cast you out from my face.” (2 Esdras 1:30)

Paul said these words: “I have shewed you all things, how that so labouring ye ought to support the weak, and to remember the words of the Lord Jesus, how he said, It is more blessed to give than to receive.” (Acts 20:35) We do not have these words of Jesus in our Gospels in the Bible. So Paul had some different Gospels.

Paul said these words to the church in Corinth: “Know ye not that we shall judge angels? (1 Corinthians 6:3) In the First Book of Enoch, Enoch had to speak to the angels about their sinning. Maybe that is what Paul is talking about.

Paul also said other words to the church in Corinth regarding the scriptures: “For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:” (1 Corinthians 15:3-4) We don’t have those scriptures in our Bibles, but I found those words in The ascension of Isaiah where he says how Jesus is going to be crucified, buried and rise from the dead on the third day. (The Other Bible page 521-522)

In the past when I have spoken these things to other people, they always quote Psalm 16:10: “For thou wilt not leave my soul in hell; neither wilt thou suffer thine Holy One to see corruption.” But that verse is not saying the same thing.

Paul wrote a letter to the church in Laodicea, and asked for it to be read in the church, but the Bible makers didn’t put it in the Bible. Colossians 4:16: “And when this epistle is read among you, cause that it be read also in the church of the Laodiceans; and that ye likewise read the epistle from Laodicea.” There is a copy of that letter in The Lost Books of the Bible. I read that letter in a church once and had big hatred against me!

In James 4:5 it is written: “Do ye think that the scripture saith in vain, The spirit that dwelleth in us lusteth to envy?” I looked in the Dake’s Bible and he says he doesn’t know what scripture James is quoting from.

In the Gospel of John 7:37-39 it is written: “In the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried, saying, If any man thirst, let him come unto me, and drink.

38 He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water.

39 (But this spake he of the Spirit, which they that believe on him should receive: for the Holy Ghost was not yet given; because that Jesus was not yet glorified.)”

I have never found the scripture that Jesus is quoting from.

Matthew 2:23: “And he came and dwelt in a city called Nazareth: that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophets, He shall be called a Nazarene.” I have never found that verse in the Old Testament.

In Mark 12:24 it is written: “And Jesus answering said unto them, Do ye not therefore err, because ye know not the scriptures, neither the power of God? 25 For when they shall rise from the dead, they neither marry, nor are given in marriage; but are as the angels which are in heaven.” Jesus may be referring to the First Book of Enoch where the fallen angels are punished for getting married.

Hebrews 11:5: “By faith Enoch was translated that he should not see death; and was not found, because God had translated him: for before his translation he had this testimony, that he pleased God.” It doesn’t say that in the Bible, it says it in the writings of Enoch.

I think I have covered every writer in the New Testament, and all of them quote scriptures that are not found in our Bibles!

What is The Book of the Wars of the Lord? Numbers 21:14: “Wherefore it is said in the book of the wars of the Lord, What he did in the Red sea, and in the brooks of Arnon,” I am curious about this book that is mentioned in the Bible, but is not found in our Bibles today.

So the Bibles we have on the market today do not have all the scriptures that are quoted in the Bible.

The next problem is the translations. Some of the modern Bibles have words like “Friday” and “Sunday.” Those words are not correct translations. The only days of the week that are mentioned are ‘the Sabbath day’ and ‘the first day of the week.’ In the Bible, days end at sunset, not at midnight like in Pope Gregory’s calendar.

Another example is the word: ”Christian.” In most translations that word is only found 3 times. Twice it is used by unbelievers and only once used by a disciple. Peter uses it only in connection with persecution: “Yet if any man suffer as a Christian, let him not be ashamed; but let him glorify God on this behalf.” (1 Peter 4:16) Peter says: “Love the Brotherhood.” (1 Peter 2:17) One of the Bibles uses the word “Christian” 133 times. Another version uses the word 333 times. So they are not translating correctly.

Some Bibles ADD in words that are not there in the Greek Interlinear. Here is an example:

Mark 7:15: “There is nothing from without a man, that entering into him can defile him: but the things which come out of him, those are they that defile the man.” (KJV)

Mark 7:19: “Because it entereth not into his heart, but into the belly, and goeth out into the draught, purging all meats?” (King James Version)

Lots of the Bible versions ADD on words that Jesus didn’t say, and claim the he said that all foods are now clean.

But in the Bible there are rules about clean and unclean meats. When Peter had the vision about unclean animals in Acts chapter 10, he took it to mean that he must preach the gospel to the Romans.

“And he said unto them, Ye know how that it is an unlawful thing for a man that is a Jew to keep company, or come unto one of another nation; but God hath shewed me that I should not call any man common or unclean.” (Acts 10:28) He saw the unclean animals in the vision as being the Gentiles, who were now allowed to get saved by faith in Jesus.

Some Bible versions TAKE OUT words that are in the Greek Interlinear. Here is an example:

1 John 5:7: “For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one.” (KJV)

Most of the Bible versions just say that there are ‘3 witnesses’ or ‘3 that testify.’ That is pretty vague! It makes no sense at all.

So you will have to do a lot of research to try and find the right translation that suits your beliefs.

A BIG WARNING There is a very scary warning in the Book of Revelation 22:18-19:

“For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book:

19 And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.”

I pray that everyone who visits my websites will get saved and have eternal life. God bless you all.

Footnote 1

Different Bible versions can leave a person with very different beliefs. I was at a conference once in Cape Town where a preacher from South America was speaking. He was reading from Hebrews 6:2 about ‘baptisms.’ But the Bible version I was using at that time had the word ‘ablutions.’

That took my mind back to Gwelo in Rhodesia where I was doing forced military training, and we were staying in the ‘Ablution Block.’ They told us that was where the toilets used to be. So my mind associates ‘ablution’ as going to the toilet. Now, going to the toilet and getting baptized are two completely different things!

Footnote 2

In one book, I read the writings of Caiaphas. In the third book of Caiaphas, he tells how he was sitting in his office after the death of Jesus, and Jesus appeared to him. Jesus told him that he had killed his last lamb. He fainted. His father-in-law Annas, found him there and revived him. They looked for Jesus, but couldn’t find him. The door was locked with a soldier outside the door, but no Jesus.

Then Caiaphas resigned from being high priest. That is contrary to the rules. A high priest is supposed to be high priest until he dies. Like Aaron. Then Annas took the job.

When I read that, I went to check if that was true according to the Bible, and I discovered that Caiaphas was still alive and no longer high priest!

“And Annas the high priest, and Caiaphas, and John, and Alexander, and as many as were of the kindred of the high priest, were gathered together at Jerusalem.” (Acts 4:6)

There are rules in the scriptures about the cities of refuge, that when the high priest dies, then the people can go back to their homes, etc. (The book of Numbers chapter 35)

There are lots and lots of exciting things that I have read in the ancient writings. I am old now, and I have difficulty reading, but if you want to know more, search for the truth!
